Why not single-use cups?

Perhaps the biggest issue with disposable paper coffee cups is the disconnect between their alleged recyclability and the rate at which they are actually recycled. Paper cups are technically recyclable, something that some coffee companies actively promote on their packaging. However, due to the complicated way they are produced, the vast majority of coffee cups do not end up being recycled.

Though they are made largely of paper, disposable coffee cups are lined with plastic polyethylene, which is tightly bonded to the paper making the cups waterproof and containing liquid.

Unrecycled plastic takes hundreds of years to break down, meaning lots of it ends up impacting the natural environment. The gradual breakdown of plastics results in tiny microplastics that can be ingested by animals and chemicals potentially toxic to various creatures, including us.

Cup has strong unpleasant persistent smell

Cup is handy and indeed leak proof. However, it has a strong unpleasant smell, and no matter what I tried it did not go away (dishwasher, hand wash, soaking in vinegar etc). This strong odor"leeks " into my drink and it makes drinking coffee unpleasant experience. I can see others had similar issue. It would be nice from manufacturer either to provide solution how to get rid of the smell or to state that it is not odor free.

Good idea, but it is not odourless as stated

I use it for my on the go coffee drinking from my usual coffee shop. The only problem with this cup is that it is not odourless, as stated.
Since the first use and wash it seems that a weird smell keeps lingering around. I unfortunately can also detect it whenever drinking coffee from it, does not matter if I wash it by hand or in a dishwasher.

(If you have any suggestions how to get rid of it, please let me know.)

Handy, sturdy, really portable

Quite good. The lid is almost leakproof, but hard to take of ( I suppose this is a trade-off). So take your teabag out BEFORE you add the lid. Folded in it's nice and small and really easy to take with you. When the tea is still piping hot , lift it by the lid ( my version was without the sleeve) . Excellent for taking to the office.

Smell

Although I love the design and easy use of this cup... And as much as I want to use it... I can't get over the smell of the cup.

De eerste bestelling via Bol ging niet goed. Toen heb ik de Travel Cups direct bij Beewise besteld. Had ik dat maar meteen gedaan! Ik was vooral heel blij met de goede communicatie toen de bestelling niet goed ging en de bestelling door vakantie vertraagd was. Ik ben bijzonder blij met de rubberen bekers. Ze bevallen heel goed omdat er goed over nagedacht is. Ik kan ze iedereen aanraden. 😊
